Product Description

Grodan Stonewool (rockwool) is made from molten rock spun into cotton candy-like fibers and then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs. Where other rockwool brand manufacturers cut all sizes from one batch of wool, Grodan is unique by making different types of fibers. The purpose is to support the requirement of the plant in the different plant stages. Grodan has a tremendous capacity for absorbing nutrient solution while retaining plenty of oxygen for rapid plant growth. Grodan comes in graduated sizes. Seedlings started in cubes are easily transferred to blocks and then onto slabs, if desired. Seedlings or cuttings started in the Grodan cubes can also be transplanted into more traditional planters and growing mediums.
Grodan Slabs – The final stage of planting with growing blocks are the Grodan slabs. These slabs come in clearly marked UV resistant poly sleeves for ease of use. Recommended for larger, long term crops with extensive roots like peppers, tomatoes, or cucumbers. Typically, seedlings in blocks are placed onto slabs. Grodan Expert is the slab that drains the fastest because of its vertical fibers. By far the most popular slab for the hydroponic hobbyist market. Grodan Master is a special wet/dry slab. The top layer is thicker, which stays wetter, while the bottom layer stays drier. In effect it defies gravity, allowing more even distribution of moisture throughout the slab.

A general potting mix designed for indoor and outdoor use. Suitable for multiple feedings per week. Mixed in small batches. Contains no bark or fillers. Coir fiber is rinsed on-site with Oregon rainwater and buffered with limestone to reduce salts. After blending and bagging, soil sits unwrapped and covered for up to 30 days to activate, compost and then go dormant to avoid HOT soil. Ingredients: sphagnum peat moss, perlite, coir fiber, pumice, mycorrhizal fungi, yucca meal, kelp meal, bone meal, diatomaceous earth, clay, basalt, oyster shell (for pH adjustment), humus and lime (for pH adjustment).GROW!T Perlite is a versatile and inert soil amendment and soilless medium. Use it to aerate soil in container gardening, for germination and propagation of seedlings, for propagation of cuttings, and as a hydroponic medium. Hydrofarm searched globally and went to great lengths to find a source of top-quality perlite, and succeeded-and what we found is offered in the GROW!T line of perlite products. Multiple grades available: #2 Perlite (1/16" - 5/8" granules), #3 Perlite (1/8" - 5/8" granules), #4 Perlite (1/3" - 3/4" granules), and #8 Perlite (3/4"-1 1/3" granules).Cocogro® has a very low salt content that is available in 3/4 in double-sieved long fibers to reduce dust and give ample space within the mix. It has excellent drainage properties and can be used over a longer period of time than coir fiber with shorter fibers. With longer fibers and reduced dust, growers will experience an optimal air to water ratio, which is vital for strong root development. Cocogro® is a superior coir fiber because it is aged a minimum of 18 months and has finished its decomposition stage. In addition, Cocogro® passes through at least three monsoon seasons, which naturally washes away harmful salts out of the final product.Pro-Mix® HP Mycorrhizae™ is a high-porosity, peat-based growing medium. This formula ensures optimum growth, especially when high air capacity and extra drainage are required. It is ideal for water-sensitive crops, root cuttings and/or low-light growing conditions. Pro-Mix® HP Mycorrhizae™ is compatible with a wide variety of ornamental plant species, fruit crops and most vegetable transplants. Contains Canadian sphagnum peat moss (65–75%/volume), horticultural-grade perlite, dolomitic and calcitic limestone (pH adjuster), wetting agent and mycorrhizae – endomycorrhizal fungi (glomus intraradices).
